Music Opportunities

Lindbergh Schools recognizes the importance of supporting student learning during the summer months. This includes specialized opportunities for Lindbergh musicians entering grades 5-12.
Our music instructors will promote strong practice habits, while helping students develop technical skills that match their playing abilities. Students will also have the opportunity to collaborate with their fellow musicians in both small- and large-group instruction.

2022 - Bass and Cello Lab
The Lindbergh Schools Strings program will offer morning and afternoon Bass and Cello Lab sessions for current Lindbergh orchestra and strings students entering grades 6-12. Each session will be divided into three groups - Beginning Bass, Bass Choir and Cello Choir. Please contact your school’s orchestra or strings teacher for more information.

2022 - Lindbergh High School Fiddle Camp
Join Lindbergh High School orchestra director Tara Kizer for the fourth annual LHS Fiddle Camp. Current Lindbergh orchestra and strings students entering grades 5-12 will learn new fiddle tunes from multiple cultural backgrounds, including Celtic, Old Time, Bluegrass, Eastern European, Cajun and more! The week will culminate with a concert for families and friends. This year’s camp is scheduled for Aug. 8-11 (Monday-Thursday) from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Students may choose the session that best suits their playing abilities: Beginner (1-2 years of playing; 9-10 a.m.), Intermediate (2-5 years of playing; 10-11 a.m.) or Advanced (5+ years of playing; 11 a.m.-12 p.m.). All students will receive a camp T-shirt. Students are welcome to attend multiple sessions at no additional charge.

Middle School Band Summer Camp
Middle School Summer Band Camp is designed for Sperreng and Truman band students entering grades 6-8. Students will meet four days a week (Monday-Thursday) from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The camp will culminate with a concert for families and friends. Any students in this program will receive information on how to join from their music instructor.

2022 - Summer Orchestra
The Lindbergh Schools Strings program will offer two Summer Orchestra sessions for current Lindbergh orchestra and strings students entering grades 5-12. Students will rehearse a variety of musical styles in an orchestra setting, while preparing music for a concert at the end of the session. Summer Orchestra I is for students entering grades 5-6. Summer Orchestra II is for students entering grades 7-12. Students will meet once a week on Wednesdays from June 1-July 20. Summer Orchestra II students may apply to assist with the Summer Orchestra I session.

Summer Strings Enrichment
The Lindbergh Schools Strings program will offer Summer Strings Enrichment for current Lindbergh orchestra and strings students entering grades 5-12. Students will have the opportunity to further develop technical and musical skills during four 30-minute one-on-one sessions with Lindbergh High School orchestra director Tara Kizer. All students will participate in exercises selected to promote the growth of their individual playing abilities. Enrichment will focus on developing strong practice habits by using methods of positive self-evaluation. Students will have one session per week for four consecutive weeks. Any students in this program will receive information on how to join from their music instructor.
