Prop R 2024 Progress Continues Districtwide

May 5, 2025

The Lindbergh Schools Board of Education recently approved several key actions to advance projects funded by Proposition R 2024, a $150 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue approved by voters to enhance equity across elementary schools in the district.  In addition, work is beginning at more schools this spring.

During the April 17 regular board meeting, the board approved the Guaranteed Maximum Construction Price (GMP) amendment to the contract with BSI Constructors, Inc. for the Truman Middle School project. The GMP for Truman Bid Packet 2 is $27,473,700, plus a $640,000 construction contingency and an $890,000 construction management fee. The total budget for the Truman Project is $41,250,000.

The board also approved an agreement for sod installation at Crestwood Elementary, where Prop R 2024 is funding the construction of a new storm shelter gym, renovations, and safety and security upgrades. The agreement with Landesign, LLC, for the installation of sod to restore the construction site to its original appearance, totals $66,013.33.

Finally, the board approved change orders related to Prop R 2024 projects, including adjustments to the contract with Wachter Inc. for work at the Support Services Center. These changes involve credits and additional costs related to electrical work and materials.

Prop R progress is continuing across the district. The following highlights detail the progress made at each site:

Crestwood Elementary School: Game lines on the new gym floor were completed on April 18, and the gym will open for student use the week of May 5.

Truman Middle School:

  • New wall framing for temporary classrooms is complete in the old warehouse.

  • Resin flooring is installed in the boys' and girls' locker rooms.

  • Fire alarms are being installed in temporary rooms in the old pool and tile gym.

  • New doorways into the hall for future classrooms have been cut.

Long: All vegetation was chipped and removed from the site on April to prepare for sitework that includes a new traffic loop for parents and construction of a new gymnasium/storm shelter.

Kennerly: Tree removal is complete on the north and south sides of the property and construction fencing has been installed to prepare for sitework that includes a new traffic loop for parents and construction of a new gymnasium/storm shelter.
