Facilities Planning Board Advisory Committee Update: May 1, 2025
May 1, 2025
The Facilities Planning Board Advisory Committee met on April 30 to review progress on district construction projects and discuss plans for the advisory committee's work in 2025-26.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tony Lake opened the meeting by providing an update on Prop R 2024 construction projects that are taking place across the district at this time, including Truman Middle School; Crestwood, Kennerly and Long elementary schools; the Lindbergh Farmers Club; and the Support Service Center. Committee members also reviewed Prop R change orders, which were presented by Scott Barbagallo, executive director of facilities and construction.
During the 2025-26 school year, the Facilities Planning Board Advisory Committee will review and provide feedback on prioritization of pending large-scale capital projects that are not currently included in Prop R 2024. This is the last advisory meeting of the 2024-25 school year.
The Facilities Planning Advisory Committee exists to make recommendations about facility needs and improvements, instructional design and district enrollment trends. This committee is chaired by Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible and Chief Human Resources Officer Dr. Brian McKenney. Meetings are run by Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake.
