Technology Advisory Committee Update: April 28, 2025
April 29, 2025
During the April Technology Advisory Committee meeting, members received updates on the district's technology plan and artificial intelligence (AI) policy, and reviewed the 2020 Impact Study to begin brainstorming the next version.
Chief Information Officer Dominic Jaggie presented the updated technology plan, outlining action items for each district department. These items were developed using feedback from committee members. The technology department will also create a district-wide technology survey and a public-facing document that outlines departmental goals.
Blended Learning Coordinator Colin Davitt shared an update on the district’s AI policy. Based on committee feedback, minor adjustments were made to the existing policy. These proposed changes will be presented to the Lindbergh Schools Board of Education this summer. Davitt noted that the policy will likely need to evolve each year as AI continues to advance.
Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tara Sparks provided a review of the 2020 Impact Study, which previously guided technology decisions across grade levels. The study led to the decision for elementary and middle school students to use iPads, while high school students received Chromebooks. Although the original implementation timeline was extended over a longer period of time, the district accelerated the transition in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. After presenting the study’s findings and impact, Dr. Sparks divided the committee into small groups to begin gathering feedback for the next iteration of the study.
This meeting marked the final Technology Advisory Committee session for the 2024–25 school year.
