February 19, 2025

The Finance Board Advisory Committee met on Jan. 14 to discuss finance-related agenda items for the February regular Board of Education meeting.

During the School Finance Minute, Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible shared information on areas where Lindbergh Schools receives federal revenue. Scheible and Executive Director of Facilities and Construction Scott Barbagallo also reviewed finance related Board of Education agenda items for the committee.

In addition, the committee heard a summary of the first Prop R 2024 Change Order Review Team, which will take place each month prior to the Finance Committee meeting. The Review Team includes a representative from both the Facilities and Finance advisory committees, in addition to district architects and Barbagallo.

The Finance Advisory Committee exists to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency in District finances. Committee members discuss areas covered by the district’s fiscal management policies. In addition, the Board of Education directs the specific responsibilities of the committee to review any matters potentially having a significant impact on district finances before the board takes action. This committee is chaired by Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible.

The Finance Board Advisory Committee will meet again on March 10.
