Technology Advisory Committee Update: January 27, 2025

January 27, 2025

The Technology Advisory Comittee meeting, led by Dominic Jaggie, Chief Information Officer for Lindbergh Schools, focused on the development of a comprehensive 5-year district technology roadmap. This roadmap will outline a strategic action plan for the replacement of technology hardware, ensuring that sustainability, transparency, and budget alignment remain central to the district’s technology initiatives. Jaggie emphasized the importance of avoiding redundant efforts and highlighted the need for streamlined processes as the district looks to maintain its technology infrastructure. To inform this effort, the technology department reviewed historical Lindbergh Schools technology plans, with the most recent dating back to 2013.

The committee also explored whether technology should have a dedicated section in future Lindbergh Schools Compass goal documents, potentially supplemented by public-facing documents. Breakout group discussions supported the inclusion of a technology-specific section, noting that it would enhance transparency and better communicate the state of district technology and its replacement cycles. However, concerns were raised about the potential cybersecurity risks associated with public-facing documents, emphasizing the need to strike a balance between transparency and safeguarding sensitive information. The group debated what elements should be included, such as current technology status, planned updates, and budget considerations, emphasizing that these resources would benefit not only the technology department but also teachers and other stakeholders.

The committee will meet again on April 28, 2025.
