Student Life Board Advisory Update: Jan. 9, 2025

Jan. 13, 2025

During the January meeting of the Student Life Board Advisory Committee, Executive Director of Assessment and Student Services Dr. Jill Lawson presented on the topic of social-emotional learning in the district.

Lawson gave an overview of SEL at the district level and how Lindbergh has implemented assessments for elementary and secondary students. It was a general overview about the current system in place, and how it was created, with help from the Student Life Board Advisory.

At the end of the meeting, breakout groups were created to discuss SEL, articial intelligence, and college/post-graduation readiness. Each group will discuss each topic and list recommendations to consider for the future. The groups will continue the discussion in the next meeting.

The Student Life Advisory Committee provides feedback and recommendations to the Board of Education on topics related to student life and success within Lindbergh Schools. Topics for analysis and feedback include social emotional learning, student safety and wellness, and extracurricular activities.

This committee is chaired by Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tara Sparks and Executive Director of Assessment and Student Services Dr. Jill Lawson.
