Two Lindbergh Students Earn Perfect ACT Scores

Oct. 25, 2024

Lindbergh High School seniors Henry Ourth and Mason Vander Meer each earned a perfect score on the ACT this year, joining an elite group of fewer than half of one percent of students who take the test nationwide and score a perfect 36.

“It is a tremendous accomplishment to achieve a perfect score on the ACT,” LHS Principal Dr. Eric Cochran said. “Henry and Mason are extremely bright and dedicated students. Their success is a direct reflection of their intellectual gifts, the support of their families, and the talented teachers who have supported each of them on their academic journey.”

Vander Meer is a National Honor Society, symphonic band, and volleyball team member. He also participates in the St. Louis Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) and sits on the Lindbergh Schools Student Life Advisory Committee. Ourth is a member of Computer Science National Honor Society, and was recently named a National Merit Semifinalist.

Henry and Mason were recognized for their accomplishments in the company of all their classmates, during the class of 2024’s senior panoramic photo at Lindbergh High School on Oct. 24.

The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam that measures students’ knowledge and skills in English, reading, mathematics, and science, including analysis and problem-solving skills that indicate college and career readiness. Nationwide, only 2,542 of 1.39 million students, or 0.18%, who took the ACT in the graduating class of 2023 earned a top composite score of 36.
