Technology Board Advisory Committee Update: Sept. 23, 2024

The Technology Board Advisory Committee met on Sept. 23 to review the district website and learn about professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff. 

Chief Communications Officer Beth Johnston shared an update on the district's Communications Audit, which includes a review of the Lindbergh Schools website. Johnston presented preliminary findings from the website audit and asked committee members to provide feedback.

In addition, Blended Learning Coordinator Colin Davitt provided committee members with an update about professional learning for teachers related to using technology for student instruction. Topics include WeVideo, Artificial Intelligence, library use and Canvas. Committee members met in small groups to provide feedback about how the Teaching and Learning Department can better communicate professional learning opportunities to staff.

Finally, committee members learned more about Apple Professional Learning and Seesaw from Instructional Technology Specialist Kati Stolzenberg. The Technology Advisory Committee will meet again on Dec. 9.

The Technology Advisory Committee provides feedback on a variety of topics and makes suggestions and recommendations that can benefit all students. Work focuses on supporting technology infrastructure development as well as educational technology implementation and their effects on all students and staff.
