Technology Advisory Committee Update: August 26, 2024
August 27, 2024
During the first meeting of the 2024-25 school year the Lindbergh Schools technology advisory committee reviewed summer technology updates, learned more about the implementation of the district's technology agreements, and received an overview of the current fiber structure.
The meeting started with Lindbergh Schools Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tara Sparks welcoming the committee back to work and leading the group in introductions.
Chief Information Officer Dominic Jaggie led the meeting by reviewing the technology department's summer updates. He then turned to updates for the school year. These updates included records retention, network switch and security upgrades, door access, intercom upgrades, and continued training with emerging technologies like AI.
This year, students will be asked to sign student technology agreements. These agreements will be catered to the student's grade level. For example, students in grades K-1 will sign a poster with simple technology rules. Students in grades 2-12 will fill out more traditional forms.
The committee will meet again on September 23, 2024.
