Teaching and Learning Board Advisory Committee Update: October 24, 2023
October 24, 2023
This month's Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee discussed a success-ready students network data dashboard, community needs, and secondary standards-based grading.
Beth Johnston, Chief Communications Officer at Lindbergh Schools, updated committee members on the district's progress in creating a success-ready students network data dashboard. The dashboard needs to show Lindbergh students are college, career, and workplace ready, ready for high school, and successful after high school while remaining easy for families to understand. Johnston and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tara Sparks received feedback and answered questions from committee members regarding the dashboard.
The committee then broke up into groups, elementary, secondary, and students to discuss what they knew and wanted to know about Lindbergh's college and career readiness efforts.
With the remaining time, Lindbergh Schools Executive Director of Secondary Education Dr. Ronni Zagora asked that committee members offer feedback on eighth-grade report cards. There were three options members could choose from. Report cards could look like the 6th and 7th grade standards-based grading report cards, the traditional 0-100 A through F report cards, or a hybrid of the two.
The committee will meet again on November 28, 2023.
