Finance Advisory Committee Meeting: October 13, 2023

During the Oct. 12 Finance Board Advisory Committee meeting, Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible shared findings from Audit Field Work, which was conducted on Oct. 5 by Fick, Eggemeyer and Williamson.

Scheible also reviewed October Board of Education finance-related agenda items, including:

9.04 Approval of Bids, Quotations, Agreements, Grant Application, and Prop R Change Orders

Finally, Roald Punselie, energy manager with Navitas, shared a presentation on energy savings that have been realized by the district over the last three years, through the replacement of heating and cooling equipment, and also optimization of systems. The district is seeking to extend its contract with Navitas for the next three years.

The Finance Advisory Committee exists to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency in District finances. Committee members discuss areas covered by the district’s fiscal management policies. In addition, the Board of Education will direct the specific responsibilities of the committee to review any matters potentially having a significant impact on district finances before the board takes action.

The Finance Committee will meet again on Nov. 14.
