Technology Advisory Update: August 28, 2023
August 29, 2023
At the first Technology Advisory Committee meeting of the 2023-24 school year, Chief Academic Officer Tara Sparks opened the meeting by allowing each committee member to introduce themselves. Committee members include members of the Lindbergh school board members, students, parents, teachers, members of the district's technology department, and technology professionals.
After introductions, Dr. Sparks led a presentation on Lindbergh's Compass goals and how technology ties into those goals. One of those goals was the topic of the first meeting's discussion, the implementation of an elementary technology learning matrix.
Collin Davitt, Blended Learning Coordinator for Lindbergh Schools, gave new committee members background information on what the committee accomplished in relation to the matrixes last school year. He explained that there are two problems the committee will be asked to give input on; how keyboarding skills can be supported, and professional learning for teachers who deal most frequently with technology. Committee members were split into three groups and asked to discuss these issues. The feedback will be used in future meetings and continue to guide the future work the Teaching and Learning department will do to tackle these issues.
The technology advisory committee will meet again on September 25, 2023.
