The Lindbergh Schools Foundation celebrated a record-breaking year of fundraising and supporting public education this year during its final Innovation Grant delivery day at Crestwood Elementary School on Wednesday, May 17.
During the 2022-23 school year, the Foundation has gifted more than $41,000 in classroom materials, technology, furniture and learning experiences to 113 Lindbergh teachers and staff through its Innovation Grant program. This is nearly triple what the Foundation was able to award just five years ago! Teachers and staff can apply throughout the year for up to $500 in materials, resources and experiences that have a direct positive impact on student learning.
At Crestwood Elementary School, nine teachers and their students were surprised with $3,200 worth of grant items including math manipulatives, story tiles, reading games, measuring tapes and busy boards for young learners. Throughout the year, the Foundation has funded everything from live snails in a high school science class, to alternative seating and under-desk bicycles at elementary schools, to Hydroponic Aquariums, Oculus virtual reality goggles and 3D printers.
