During the March meeting of the Finance Board Advisory Committee, Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible discussed finance items on the upcoming March 14 Board of Education meeting agenda.

This month, the Board of Education will vote to select a Construction Management at Risk firm and authorize the district to negotiate a contract, for planning related to the future Prop 2024 project that is being planned. The recommended vendor offers the best value for the district and is capable of performing the desired services for the planned future Prop 2024 project.

The board will also vote on a proposal for installation of a high definition broadcast studio at Lindbergh High School, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, and review Prop R change orders for the new high school construction project.

The committee also discussed how tax rates are set for school districts, and how bond issues allow schools to make improvements to schools and facilities. The next meeting is April 14.
