Finance Committee Update: Dec. 13, 2022

Dec. 13, 2022

During the December meeting of the Finance Board Advisory Committee, Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible provided an update on the district's annual cash flow. November ending balances for operating funds was lower than it has been in the last two years as the district waited for its first tax revenue payment from St. Louis County. That payment was received this week.

The committee also reviewed student activity accounts to better understand how organizations track revenue and expenditures to support student clubs and organizations. In addition, they reviewed finance-related agenda items that will be included in the Dec. 20 Board of Education meeting, and Prop R construction change orders for the Lindbergh High School project.

The Finance Advisory Committee exists to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency in district finances. Committee members will discuss areas covered by the district’s fiscal management policies. In addition, the Board of Education will direct the specific responsibilities of the committee to review any matters potentially having a significant impact on district finances before the board takes action. This committee is chaired by Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible.
