Wreaths Across America Visits Lindbergh Schools
Nov. 14, 2022
Students and community members will have the unique opportunity to learn about Veterans of the US Armed Forces during a visit from the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit on Nov. 18, in South St. Louis County.
The goal of Wreaths Across America (WAA) in bringing their Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE) to St. Louis is to bring the community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. The MEE serves as a free, mobile museum with educational and inspiring interactive exhibits, short films and shared stories.
The MEE’s visit on Nov. 18 is being sponsored by the John Sappington, Olde Towne Fenton, and Webster Groves Chapters of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Lindbergh Schools will partner to host the MEE at 10140 Concord School Road, adjacent to Sperreng Middle School and within walking distance of Concord Elementary School. Lindbergh elementary, middle school and high school students will tour the exhibit during the school day, and the exhibit will be open to the public from 4-7 p.m. All veterans, active-duty military, their families, local community members and the media are invited and encouraged to visit. Come, take a tour, speak with WAA representatives and DAR volunteers, and experience this one-of-a-kind exhibit, which also serves as an official “welcome home” station for our nation’s Vietnam Veterans.
“The Wreaths Across America exhibit supports our goal to provide students with real, authentic learning experiences in their community, and we appreciate the work of our local DAR chapters to bring this opportunity to Lindbergh,” said Dr. Tony Lake, superintendent of schools.

The partnership between DAR and WAA helps to ensure communities across the United States learn the indelible mark our veterans have on our country and the value of honoring their sacrifices.

Sponsor a Wreath
You can sponsor a veteran’s wreath for $15 at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org. Click on “Local Sponsorship Groups,” and insert the name of one of the three DAR chapters listed above. Each sponsorship goes toward a live, balsam wreath that will be placed on the headstone of an American hero as we endeavor to honor all veterans laid to rest at noon on National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022.
