Lindbergh High School Celebrates Class of 2022

Students in Lindbergh High School’s 69th graduating class were awarded more than $16 million in scholarships this year, Principal Dr. Eric Cochran said during the school’s Class of 2022 graduation ceremony, May 31 at the Family Arena. Of the 555 graduates, 74.2  percent plan to attend college, 3.9 percent plan to enroll in schools of advanced training, 1.1 percent plan to serve in the military, 15.6 percent plan to enter the workforce, and 5.2 percent are undecided.

Senior speakers Katherine Adams and Samuel Haberberger spoke about different aspects of adversity. Adams focused on the importance of overcoming the many challenges of the pandemic.

“The pandemic is something that we chose to overcome, when it was thrown at us unexpectedly,” Adams said. “We all have become stronger in the face of it. We had no choice but to do the best we could.  And I think this has made this graduating class the most determined, perseverent, and resilient group of people that I have ever met.”

Haberberger spoke to the class about overcoming challenges, not on our own, but with the support of our family, friends and community.

“Whether we like to admit it or not, we all face obstacles,” he said. “If you are wearing a cap and gown out here today, that means you have climbed your own personal mountain, and you are now a graduate of Lindbergh High School. … Now is our time to find and pursue our passions. Now is the time to leave our legacy.”

Once again this year, LHS was ranked among America’s best high schools by U.S. News and World Report – and with good reason. In this year’s class, 354 students were awarded scholarships, among those 48 Missouri Bright Flight Scholarships; 14 athletic scholarships; 131 A+ scholarships and 10 music, theater and arts scholarships.

The Class of 2022 also includes nine National Merit Finalists, nine National Merit Semifinalists, two National Merit Commended Students and nine International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates.
