Caring for Our Community in Response to School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas
Dear Lindbergh Family,
All of us are heartbroken as we watch the news of yesterday’s tragic school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. We mourn for the victims, their families and the community as they navigate such a horrific event.
A tragedy of this magnitude hits especially close to home when it happens in a school. Every day, you put your trust in our teachers, administrators and support staff to keep your children safe, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We remain steadily focused on safety and student well-being in our own schools. This includes adding structural features that secure our buildings, training staff and students to prepare, and perhaps most importantly, building strong relationships among staff and students to make sure that every child feels valued, safe, and included.
At home, images on TV and online can be difficult to avoid during a national tragedy. You may be wondering how to talk about such an event with your children. If you are struggling with this conversation, here are articles that can help.

Now, and every day, we must take care of each other. In the coming days, as we watch and grieve with the Robb Elementary School community, we are thankful for our families, friends and community, and our hearts ache for those whose world has been torn apart by tragedy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Lake
