Truman Middle School staff and Lindbergh Schools administrators joined Truman students on Thursday, May 5 to celebrate the completion of the building’s new secure vestibule. Every school in the district now has a safe, secure entryway, thanks to community support of the Prop R bond issue in April 2019.

Students and staff gathered to cut a ribbon for the new, secure entry vestibule at Truman. Prop R funded this project, along with new, secure vestibules at Crestwood, Long and Kennerly elementary schools, and Sperreng Middle School. Additionally, Prop R will support the addition of security glazing on entryway glass and transaction windows at five schools that already have secure vestibule entryways. At Lindbergh High School, Prop R construction is ongoing on safe, secure state-of-the-art new buildings that will provide flexible learning opportunities for generations of future students.

“We are grateful to our community for supporting these essential safety improvements that will have a positive benefit on the lives of all Lindbergh students,” said Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake. “Students must first feel safe in order to focus on learning and reach their full potential. Prop R helps bring that equity and security to all of our schools.”

Lindbergh voters overwhelmingly approved Prop R, a $105 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue to revitalize the Lindbergh High School campus and create districtwide safety equity, in April 2019. More than 77 percent of voters cast ballots in favor of Prop R, which required 57.15 percent for approval.
