Board Approves 2022-23 District Calendar

Nov. 10, 2021

The Lindbergh Schools Board of Education voted during its October meeting to approve the 2022-23 district calendar. The first day of the 2022-23 school year is set for Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. The calendar also aligns days off for students, so there are no differences between early childhood, elementary, middle and high school levels.

New for next year, elementary schools will move to a trimester format, while middle and high schools remain on a four-quarter, two-semester schedule. Elementary school conferences will take place at the end of the first and second trimesters (October and February, respectively), and curriculum night events will replace elementary school intake conferences at the beginning of the school year.

Each year, a committee of parents, teachers and administrators meet to develop the calendar before submitting it to the board for final approval. Missouri law requires public schools to start no sooner than 14 calendar days before the first Monday in September. In addition, school years are counted in hours instead of days, giving districts more flexibility in managing inclement weather days.
