ECSE Task Force Update: Sept. 30, 2021

Sept. 30, 2021

The Early Childhood Special Education Task Force met for the second time Thursday, Sept. 30. As a result of survey feedback, the task force is focusing on three themes of needed improvement - bridging early childhood special education and early childhood education program coordination, transitioning between programs and levels, and developing inclusive models for students and staff. This meeting was the start of finding solutions to those challenges.

One thing remains clear throughout the task force's work - parent feedback regarding the success of current programming is positive. For that reason, there is no decision regarding how the district will address the three themes of needed improvement.

The task force is comprised of teachers from both Lindbergh Schools and the Special School District of St. Louis County, as well as families receiving early childhood special education programming.

The task force's next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14.
