Lindbergh High School students Mukund Chidambaram and Ida Fan scored a perfect 36 on the ACT this year, joining an elite group of fewer than half of one percent of students who take the test nationwide and score a perfect 36. In the graduating class of 2020, only 5,579 of 1.67 million students who took the ACT earned a top composite score of 36.

“Earning a top score on the ACT is an outstanding academic achievement, and we are very proud of their success,” said LHS Principal Dr. Eric Cochran. “This demonstrates their hard work and dedication in school by prioritizing academics.”

The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam that measures what students have learned in school. Students who earn a 36 composite score have likely mastered all of the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in first-year college courses in the core subject areas.

These LHS students have shown great success both in and out of the classroom:

• Mukund Chidambaram is a member of National Honor Society, treasurer of Science Olympiad, pit section leader of Lindbergh High School’s marching band, co-founder and co-president of Speech and Debate, closing attorney for Mock Trial, teaching assistant and volunteer project lead at Balvihar STL, volunteer at Lutheran Senior Services, and a research assistant at SLU AirCRAFT lab.
  
  
• Ida Fan is a member of National Honor Society, co-president of Creative Writing Club, Science Olympiad, Speech and Debate, Tri-M music honor society, Rho Kappa social studies honor society, Strolling Strings, participates in ultimate frisbee, and Class 16 of Cultural Leadership.
