April 15, 2021

Truman Middle School Assistant Principal Dr. Jenna Wright has been named 2021 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals.

“Jenna has been an integral part of the success of Truman Middle School during her time here,” said Truman Principal Dr. Mike Straatmann. “Her tireless work and efforts with students, staff and families continuously lead to positive outcomes. Her level of compassion and care for students is evident on a regular basis. She is as steady as they come when it comes to her ability to lead staff, and her level of efficiency with tasks and the ability to enhance teacher growth are some of her finest skill sets. I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead Truman Middle School together with than Dr. Jenna Wright.”

Dr. Wright has been serving Lindbergh families for 15 years as a teacher, mentor, instructional coach and administrator. She was named assistant principal at Truman Middle School in 2016. Over the past two years, she has played an integral role serving on the district’s Middle School Redesign Task Force, helping teachers, staff and students create a flexible, high-quality learning experience that supports student success, real-world connections, collaboration and social-emotional well-being.

Wright earned her bachelor of arts in education from Maryville University, her master of arts in educational administration from Lindenwood University, and her doctorate in education from Maryville University.
