LHS Seniors Named National Merit Commended Students

Sept. 24, 2020

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced that six Lindbergh High School students have been named Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students are being recognized for exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

Seniors Martin De La Hunt, Gregory Goetz, Isaac Henry, Marisa Smith, Tyler Thomas and Rowan Thornton are among 34,000 students nationwide who have been named Commended Students this year.

“This recognition demonstrates each student’s dedication to academic success,” said LHS Principal Dr. Eric Cochran. “We are proud to have them represent our district on a national level.”

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has recognized 50,000 students this year for their exceptional academic performance. Commended Students placed among the top of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
