COVID-19 Spring Break Travel Update

March 12, 2020

Dear Lindbergh community,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Missouri Department of Health have updated their travel advisories to advise citizens about potential travel risks related to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We anticipate these updates will continue daily. As we move into spring break for Lindbergh students and staff, it is more important than ever that families and staff members monitor the CDC and state health department websites, and follow all guidance being issued about both domestic and international travel.

We have been communicating directly with the St. Louis County Department of Health, and are following guidance from their staff epidemiologists and chief medical officer. Right now, there is no information to indicate that school will not resume on Monday, March. 23. However, in the event that school will need to be closed at a future date, we are making plans to adjust instruction and provide for student needs.

Lindbergh Schools Travel Notification Request
Due to mitigation strategies put in place by the CDC, if you are traveling to an area that the CDC has identified as having sustained community transmission, domestic or international, please notify your school principal prior to your departure.

For the safety and health of all students and staff, Lindbergh Schools will enforce CDC and Missouri Department of Health travel guidelines when deciding whether a student or staff member will be allowed to return to school. This means that some travelers may not be able to return to school for 14 days following their return to St. Louis. Please check the CDC website regularly for additional information.

For the first time in 11 years, the World Health Organization has declared a pandemic, which is defined as worldwide spread of a new disease. A pandemic declaration is not intended to cause fear; rather, it is to help communities prepare to prevent further spread of this new disease. We stand committed to providing a safe, healthy environment for all Lindbergh students and staff. We are constantly monitoring this situation and will communicate with all families and staff prior to school resuming on Monday, March 23.
