Board Director Earns Distinguished Certification
June 13, 2019
Lindbergh Schools Board of Education Director Dr. Mike Tsichlis has achieved Distinguished Certification in the Missouri School Boards’ Association certified board member program. He was recognized for this honor at the 2019 MSBA Leadership Summit on June 8. During the same meeting, former Lindbergh Schools Board of Education president and current Missouri State Board of Education Vice President Dr. Vic Lenz also earned his Distinguished Certification, and the Lindbergh Schools Board of Education was honored with the 2019 Governance Team Award.
The Distinguished Certification program recognizes school board members who go above and beyond the 16 hours of professional learning that are required by the state of Missouri. To achieve Distinguished Certification, board members must earn at least 44 additional training credits, read a book related to school board service, observe two board meetings in other districts and attend at least two MSBA regional or statewide events. Members must also demonstrate leadership, advocacy and presentation skills in a variety of activities related to school board service.
