Lindbergh to Host Student Council Convention
March 4, 2019
Lindbergh High School Student Council will welcome more than 1,300 students from across the state later this week as they host the 71st annual Missouri Association of Student Councils convention March 7-9. The event will bring together more than 165 Missouri schools.
Attendees will feel like they are entering Hogwarts castle as they walk the halls of LHS, which will be decorated from top to bottom with a Harry Potter theme. The convention will include five keynote speakers, student-led workshops, an awards presentation, a vendor fair and even a fireworks display. LHS students developed their theme, “The Magic of Moments,” which will incorporate characters, locations and elements from the iconic Harry Potter book series.
Lindbergh’s Student Council was selected for this prestigious honor during the 2018 MASC State Convention in Lebanon, Mo., where they campaigned for the office of president and won a stiff election against three other high schools. It has been 15 years since Lindbergh High School last hosted the state convention.
“Being selected as MASC President School is a huge honor that recognizes the dedication and quality of our Lindbergh High School students” said sponsor Mark Pfeiffer. “This honor is a testament to the leadership opportunities that are afforded to our students by teachers and administrators, and it is an accomplishment that our entire school district can be proud of.”
As MASC president, LHS StuCo members also represented Missouri at the 2018 Region 6 Convention in Phoenix last summer. MASC’s other officer schools include Jefferson City High School – first vice president, Liberty High School, Wentzville – secretary, and Heritage Middle School, Liberty Public Schools – second vice president.
