Sept. 25, 2023

Lindbergh High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report, ranking in the top 4% in Missouri.

U.S. News and World Report released its “2023 Best High Schools” list in August, and LHS ranked No. 16 in St. Louis, No. 25 in Missouri and No. 2,531 nationwide. In all, 25,000 public high schools were reviewed, and nearly 18,000 were ranked on this year’s list.

St. Louis Voters Name LHS ‘Best Public School’

Additionally, LHS has been voted “Best Public School” in the Headliner Awards, presented by the St. Louis-Post Dispatch. Lindbergh received the most votes overall in the education category, which also includes private schools, colleges and universities.

“Lindbergh High School teachers and staff ensure that our students receive the best personalized education for our students in order to prepare them for outside the classroom,” said LHS Principal Dr. Eric Cochran. “We are proud that we are recognized as one of the best schools in the nation and the state of Missouri.”

The U.S. News rankings utilize indicators including college readiness, college curriculum, math and reading proficiency and performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rate.

The methodology recognizes schools that serve all students well, not only those who are college bound, and schools that produce measurable academic outcomes to show that they are educating students well and preparing them for successful futures.
