Lindbergh Earns Top Honors for Dual Credit, College Tuition Savings
St. Louis Community College recently recognized Lindbergh Schools for its efforts to prepare students for college and future success.
Lindbergh Schools partners with STLCC to provide students the opportunity to receive dual credit between high school and college. The partnership allows students to save money on college tuition, and the program continues to grow.
During the May 2023 regular Board of Education meeting, Lindbergh Schools earned Certificates of Recognition from STLCC as the top school district in the following categories:
- Most Dual Credit Students, 2022-23
- Most Money Saved Overall, 2022-23
Overall, 347 Lindbergh High School students were enrolled in at least one dual credit class at the high school during the 2022-23 school year, and 33 students were enrolled in the dual enrollment program, which means they attend class at St. Louis Community College - Meramec. Students collectively saved $1,033,179 in college tuition costs, compared to the cost of credit hours at public colleges or universities in Missouri. They also earned a total of 4,196 dual credit hours.
In addition, Lindbergh Schools was nominated for honors in the following categories:
- Most Early College Students, 2022-23
- Highest Enrollment Growth in Dual Credit, 2022-23
- Highest Average Savings per Dual Credit Student, 2022-23
“Our partnership with the STLCC dual credit program allows students who are already doing rigorous, college-level learning to also get a jumpstart on a college degree and save thousands of dollars in college tuition,” said Dr. Ronni Zagora, Executive Director of Secondary Education. “This program is extremely valuable to our students and we are excited to watch the program continue to grow at Lindbergh.”
LHS offered 133 classes in the dual credit program for the 2022-23 school year, including business, English, mathematics, science, and political science.
