St. Louis County Shares School Reopening Guidelines

July 7, 2020

The St. Louis County Department of Health, EducationPlus and Independent Schools of St. Louis shared a Return to School Guidance document today that local schools will use as a framework for developing their individual return-to-school plans. This document was developed by area superintendents, health care professionals and health department personnel to support a consistent approach for reopening school with an emphasis on student and staff health and safety.

Over the past several weeks, Lindbergh Schools administrators have been closely reviewing these countywide guidelines to ensure that Lindbergh’s procedures and practices are consistent with local health department recommendations in the following areas:

  • Social distancing
  • Health screening for students and staff
  • Procedures when someone becomes sick
  • Guidelines for protective face coverings and PPE
  • Handwashing
  • Facilities considerations
  • Transportation
  • Cleaning and disinfecting
  • Social and emotional wellbeing

School Reopening Plan Coming Soon

School districts across the St. Louis region are planning to share their reopening plans with the community on Monday, July 20. Lindbergh Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake has been meeting regularly with school superintendents from across the region to ensure that Lindbergh’s reopening plan is consistent with surrounding school districts and aligns with St. Louis County Health Department guidance. We are mindful that these guidelines and recommendations could change, and we will remain flexible as we work to accomplish our most important goal, which is to do what is best for kids and families.
