Lindbergh High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report, ranking in the top 2 percent in Missouri and in the top 5 percent of high schools nationwide that were included on the list.

U.S. News and World Report released its "2019 Best High Schools" list on April 30, and LHS received a Silver Medal of Distinction, ranking seventh in Missouri and 940 nationwide. More than 17,000 public high schools were eligible for the list. Schools are recognized for their performances on state assessments, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.

"We are always proud to be recognized as a top high school in the state and the nation," said LHS Principal Dr. Eric Cochran. "Our staff works hard every day to provide our students with the highest levels of instruction and preparation for life beyond high school."

Lindbergh High School students scored well above state averages in both English and mathematics proficiency exams, with 51 percent of students participating in Advanced Placement courses and a 97 percent graduation rate.

The U.S. News and World Report methodology takes into account several factors such as test scores and the number of advanced courses offered. The list recognizes schools that serve all students well, not only those who are college bound, and schools that produce measurable academic outcomes to show that they are educating students well and preparing them for successful futures.
