District Welcomes New Director of Inclusion, Equity and Diversity
July 5, 2022
Lindbergh Schools is pleased to welcome Inclusion, Equity and Diversity Director Dr. Sheriah Mason to the district’s Teaching and Learning department for the 2022-23 school year.
In this role, Mason will work alongside district leaders and instructional staff to support building classroom communities and creating a culture of belonging and inclusion for students and staff.
Mason currently serves as a first grade teacher and administrative intern at Keysor Elementary School in the Kirkwood School District, where she has been an active leader in equity work and a member of Kirkwood Teachers of Color. In addition to leading daily lessons for students and communicating with families to meet educational needs, Mason also specializes in restorative justice, assessment and analysis, and relationship-building. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the Teach for America Instructional Excellence Fellowship Cohort, a six-month professional development program to problem-solve the challenge of engaging all learners by investing in teachers with a strong track record of strong student learning outcomes.
“I am committed to ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and valued,” Mason said. “As educators it is our responsibility to create this atmosphere for our students daily. I am so excited to be able to serve the Lindbergh community in this work!”
Mason holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Maryville University, a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
