December 16, 2015
The Lindbergh Schools Board of Education celebrated savings for taxpayers, recognized student and staff achievements and honored the hard work of parent volunteers during its Dec. 8 regular meeting.
P-Card Saves District $66,000 in Nine Years
Over the past nine years, Lindbergh Schools has received $66,008.86 in rebates by using a purchasing card to pay for district expenditures. Mike Parnell, associate executive director of member relations for Missouri School Boards’ Association, presented the district with a rebate check totaling $7,373.07 for fiscal 2015 during the Dec. 8 Board of Education meeting.
“On behalf of MSBA, it is my pleasure tonight to present this check and commend you for being good stewards of district resources,” Parnell said. “Our primary goal at MSBA is to help school boards succeed, which is a goal that can be measured in many ways. One of those ways is through the management of district financial resources.”
Board Recognizes Promising Practice Winners
Lindbergh Schools received international recognition from the Character Education Partnership for five Promising Practices this October. Promising Practices are successful, unique ways of reinforcing character traits in students grades pre-K through 12. They enable students to experience positive character firsthand, as well as enrich their lives and the lives of others. Each winning practice meets at least one of CEP’s 11 Principles and at least one of 31 subtopics, such as Relationship Building, Mentoring/Buddies, Service Learning or Integration with Academics.
Lindbergh’s five winning programs that were honored by the Board of Education on Dec. 8 include:
Parents Give $667,902 Toward Student Programs
