Closure Update for Families: Friday, April 3
April 3, 2020
Dear Lindbergh Community,
Over the past two weeks, it has been truly amazing to watch our entire community rally around our kids and families as we have made a monumental pivot in the way we deliver instruction.
Families, you are adapting to a new reality that includes working from home, caring for your children and teaching them as well. Thank you. We know this is no easy task, and we are very mindful of the unique challenges that this unprecedented situation has created.
Lindbergh teachers and staff, you have risen to the occasion in every way, working tirelessly to provide personalized experiences for our students, build creative lessons, and ensure that kids are staying engaged even when they are away from school. I am so impressed by your collaboration and dedication, and I appreciate your hard work.
At this time, school is scheduled to resume on Thursday, April 23. St. Louis County school districts communicate regularly with the St. Louis County Department of Health, and we are following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We will continue to communicate with families and staff on a regular basis to keep you informed during this time.
Meeting Student Needs
In addition to providing virtual instruction, our team is working around the clock to ensure that students’ physical, emotional and resource needs are being met.
Meals
During the closure, Lindbergh Schools is providing free curbside to-go meals for any student who needs them. Families must sign up in order to take advantage of this service. To sign up, please fill out the form below. Meals are available for pick up Monday-Friday at the Lindbergh High School commons. A packaged lunch will be provided, in addition to breakfast for the following day.
Computer and Internet Access
Lindbergh has loaned more than 600 devices to students to help them learn at home during this extended closure. If your student does not have access to a computer at home, please communicate directly with your teacher or email covidhelp@lindberghschools.ws.
In addition, Charter is waiving installation fees and providing 60-day Spectrum Internet access for families during the COVID-19 crisis. Please call 844-488-8395 for details.
COVID-19 Family Helpline
Our COVID-19 family helpline is monitored daily to respond to family needs. Please call 314-729-2448, or email covidhelp@lindberghschools.ws, and a member of our team will respond to you within 24 hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday). You can also visit our COVID-19 website for all district updates and information.
In closing, I would like to thank everyone in our community for coming together in support of our kids during this time. I will be in touch soon with additional updates. Until then, stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Lake
