Musicthon Raises $2,500 for Cancer Research
April 9, 2018
Lindbergh High School band members raised $2,500 during the fifth annual 36-Hour LHS Musicthon, April 6-7, all to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand and honor a young band buddy who passed away in 2014 following a brave battle with cancer. This year’s effort brings the band’s total amount raised to $14,300 over the history of the event.
The entire event was organized by band President Mike Mullins and Vice President Megan Vogl. Students signed up for 30-minute time slots and entertained students and community members with their performances in the LHS Commons.
"In its most basic form, Musicthon is designed to empower those affected by pediatric cancer through our partnership with the Alex's Lemonade Stand charity,” Mullins said. “Through 36 hours of continuous music, musically driven students from Lindbergh come together to put on a show dedicated to the kids that serve as an inspiration to all with their relentless fight."
