Happy American Education Week
November 13, 2017
Why do you work in public education? We asked our Lindbergh Key Communicators this question, and we are proud to share their responses during American Education Week, Nov. 13-17.
- To encourage all students to reach their full potential.
- I have the best of both worlds at my job. I can interact with adults and children. I can play a key role in helping the school run smoothly.
- I love teaching young children because each one is an individual who has a different learning style. My job is to provide this fun and learning environment to reach out to all my students in a positive way!
- To establish a great learning environment, where everyone has appropriate facilities that are clean, safe and orderly so that they can be comfortable and productive.
- I like the fun environment of a school and along the way maybe make a difference in the life of a child or two.
- Because I believe TOGETHER we can make a difference!
- ...to ensure EVERY child who walks through our hallways and into our classrooms feels special, loved, cared for... and always welcome here!
- To see the light in the students' eyes - they are excited to come to school - to learn new things and share with the other students
- Having a business degree, I never thought I'd end up in the education industry; but now that I'm in, I love it because I get to apply my skills while also learning about a wide range of other new topics. It makes me proud to see all the cool things Lindbergh does and know that I am a part of that. I also get to coach the sport I love at the high school and that addition makes working for Lindbergh all the more an absolutely perfect fit for me.
- To help students and parents feel comfortable and safe.
- To see the expression on students’ faces as they tell me why they love a particular author!
- I enjoy looking at life through the eyes of the kids I see everyday
- I love what I do because I get to see the wonder and excitement in these teenagers’ eyes when they experience art – they are hands on and completely immersed in whatever medium we are using that day! So much of the 'handmade' has been removed from their young lives and replaced with technology and devices so when we do something like clay sculpture or color reduction printing, the kids are in heaven!
- I love building relationships with our families and watching our students grow in character and knowledge over their years with Lindbergh.
- Three months into my tenure here at Lindbergh, I was delivering the inflatables to the Old Sappington Gym. Coach Driemeyer had a kindergarten class in the gym explaining what was happening, as we were getting ready to set up the inflatables for gym class. The overall excitement from the children was amazing, especially from the runny nose girl who gave me a hug and said thanks. That is WHY!!
- My WHY is to help students find their passions.
- I handle the small details, so great things happen each day!
- I was lucky enough to spend kindergarten through 12th grade with fabulous Lindbergh teachers, as were my two children. Lindbergh is just a part of me! I can't imagine doing anything else.
