Musick Avenue Closure Will Begin Oct. 3
September 28, 2017
St. Louis County has informed us that a major road closure will occur on Musick Avenue, beginning next Tuesday, Oct. 3. Lindbergh parents and staff who travel on Musick Avenue between Meath Drive and Lavinia Drive will need to find alternate routes to and from school while St. Louis County Department of Transportation replaces a bridge on this stretch of Musick. We understand this will affect many families, and we will do all we can to keep you updated when St. Louis County shares information with us. The county is expecting the road to be closed until early March 2018.
Detour Route
St. Louis County recommends that drivers follow the signed detour route and allow sufficient time for driving to and from school. These new routes will probably require additional time to drive to and from school. The county’s detour route is as follows:
- Dressel Elementary School: Driving north on Musick Avenue, turn left on Gravois Road, heading west. Turn left on Baptist Church, heading south. Turn left on Lindbergh, heading east. Turn left on Tesson Ferry Road. Dressel Elementary School will be on your left.
- Sperreng Middle School: Driving north on Musick Avenue, turn left on Gravois Road, heading west. Turn left on Baptist Church, heading south. Turn right on Tesson Ferry Road, to Concord School Road.
- Lindbergh High School: Driving north on Musick Avenue, turn left on Gravois Road, heading west. Turn left on Baptist Church, heading south. Turn right on Lindbergh Boulevard, and LHS will be on your right.
Bus Transportation
This year’s bus routes took the upcoming bridge closure into account, and as a result there will only be a few minor changes to pickup and dropoff times. Those changes will be communicated directly with families before next week. Please keep in mind that traffic patterns will change on Baptist Church and Tesson Ferry Road, which may affect other bus routes. We will watch traffic flow and make adjustments if necessary.
Updates and Information
St. Louis County Department of Transportation is keeping us informed about the project’s status, and we will pass on those updates as soon they are made available.
