Iverson Earns Scholar-Athlete Award
May 11, 2014
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently released its list of 2015 Scholar-Athletes, and Lindbergh High School senior Ann Iverson was among the student-athletes honored by the publication.
A swimming standout, Iverson boasts a 4.818 cumulative grade point average and ranks first in her class of 491 students. She is a National Merit Finalist, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a U.S. Presidential Scholars candidate, and an International Baccalaureate diploma recipient. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.
In the pool, Iverson served as team captain and was a four-year letter winner for the Flyers. As a senior, she placed seventh in the 500 freestyle and ninth in the 200 freestyle at the Suburban West Conference meet.
Iverson will attend the University of Notre Dame and plans to major in biology.
“I hope to either become a doctor or to do medical research,” Iverson said. “I find it interesting the way so many small parts can come together to make something as complex as the human body.”
Each year, the Scholar-Athlete program honors one senior from every participating school in the Post-Dispatch immediate coverage area. Student-athletes are selected by administrators from each school.
