LHS Interact Club Gives Generously
December 24, 2014
Students in the LHS Interact Club found many ways to serve those in need this semester.
They spent several hours in November making crafts to sell at the annual Rotary Craft Fair, and raised enough money to pay school tuition for two students in Guatemala. The students will continue their efforts on Jan. 10 during the club’s fifth annual Interact/Rotary Chili supper.
Earlier in November, students prepared and served dinner for patients and their families at the Ronald McDonald House on West Pine. They also head out bright and early on the first Saturday of each month to clean the commuter lot in Sunset Hills.
In December, students shopped for and wrapped gifts for a Lindbergh family in need. They also went caroling with middle school Interact students on Dec. 17 at Crestwood Schnuck’s, as they rang the bell for Salvation Army. On Dec. 30, girls from LHS Interact will help residents get ready for New Year’s festivities by giving manicures at the Fountainview Senior Living Center in Friendship Village.

“LHS students have found that time helping others is the most valuable time they have,” says sponsor Amy Richards. “In addition, they enjoy time mentoring their younger middle school interact leaders and are inspired when they are able to partner with their Crestwood-Sunset Hills Rotary role models.”
