LHS Students Fight Cyberbullying with Social Media
Students from Lindbergh High School formed one of eight high school teams that came together on Sept. 30 to develop a social media campaign to combat cyberbullying. Students created the hashtag #StartsWithUs to promote positive things happening in their schools and combat cyberbullying.
Other participating schools included Bayless High School, Belleville East High School, Belleville West High School, Fox High School, Ladue Horton Watkins High School, Lafayette High School and Mehlville High School.
Students left with the challenge to go back to their schools and create positive experiences to foster inclusion, acceptance and joy among their peers. They will meet again in February to share results and present at the METC Conference. CharacterPlus partnered with the St. Louis Rams and St. Charles City and County Library District for this initiative.
Kiwanis Peanut Day Supports Builders Club Service
Students in the Sperreng and Truman middle school Builders Club partnered with the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Kiwanis Club Oct. 4 for their annual Peanut Day fundraiser, which raises money for student service projects during the 2014-15 school year.
The club raised more than $1,000 to fund service projects and programs through the Builders Club, which is one of the student branches of Kiwanis International.
Students and club sponsors thanked the generous patrons at Crestwood Schnuck’s for supporting their efforts by donating spare change in exchange for the peanuts.
