Lindbergh HS Track Field Closes for Construction
June 11, 2025
The Lindbergh High School track stadium will be closed this summer for Prop R improvements. During this time, the area will be closed for all school use, community members and outside facility rentals.
The Lindbergh Board of Education approved a measure to improve the Lindbergh High School Athletic Complex at its meeting on Jan. 16. The improvements include the installation of artificial turf on the track stadium field, a new eight-lane all-weather track, and site upgrades to provide emergency vehicles better access to the track stadium.
The project is part of the district's Prop R 2024 no-tax-rate-increase bond issue, which was approved by voters in 2024. The bid for the project was awarded to ATG Sports, a company that specializes in the construction of athletic facilities. The total cost of the project is not to exceed $2,823,716.
This project was bid through the TIPS Cooperative, which is a purchasing cooperative that allows school districts to purchase goods and services at a discounted price.
The track stadium field is primarily used for field hockey, lacrosse, and track and field. Construction on the project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2025.
