The Finance Board Advisory Committee met on April 15 to review finance-related Board of Education agenda items with Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible.
Scheible began the meeting with a discussion of Assessed Valuation Data, and explained how the district uses a state-mandated formula to hold property owners harmless from year to year as property values increase.
Next, the committee reviewed finance-related Board of Education agenda items on the April 17 meeting agenda. These items include Financial Reports for the Month Ending March 31, 2025; Payroll and Disbursement Warrants; Budget Adjustments & Fund Transfers; Contracts; Prop R Crestwood Elementary Sod Installation; Concord Farmers Club and Residential Home Sites Demolition; Prop R 2024 Change Orders; Lindbergh Early Childhood Education Tuition Rates for 2025-2026; EPSON Projectors - Replacement Schedule; Approval of Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) BSI Guaranteed Maximum Construction (GMP) Amendment to Contract - Truman Bid Packet 2; and Apple Master Lease Purchase Agreement.
The Finance Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet again on May 13.
The Finance Advisory Committee exists to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency in district finances. Committee members will discuss areas covered by the district's fiscal management policies. In addition, the Board of Education will direct the specific responsibilities of the committee to review any matters potentially having a significant impact on district finances before the board takes action. This committee is chaired by Chief Financial Officer Joel Scheible.
