During February's meeting, committee members continued discussions about one of the district's current Compass goals, investigating an age-appropriate student learning matrix of technology skills.

Members were presented with the timeline for the matrix discussed during January's meeting and asked to review a survey that will be sent out to teachers asking for their input on what skills students need to know at their grade level.

As they went through the survey themselves, committee members offered their feedback on the questions asked. The decision was made to send out the survey in waves to help focus on one layer at a time. The goal is to send the survey to just K-5 teachers at this time. The data collected will help create the K-5 skills matrix with anticipated revisions before it is ready for the next phase. Phase two would include sending the survey to the middle school teachers with the K-5 matrix attached. That data would then be used to help create a matrix at the high school level.

The next technology committee meeting will be held on April 24, 2023.
