Facilities Planning Committee Update: Sept. 29, 2021
Sept. 29, 2021
The Facilities Planning Board Advisory Committee reviewed summer projects and discussed Master Facility Planning direction during its first meeting of the year.
Roald Punselie of Navitas also shared information about energy optimization in Lindbergh Schools. Concord Elementary School and Sperreng Middle School are realizing significant savings so far this school year by adjusting temperatures in the buildings during unoccupied hours, and additional schools will be added to this program in future months.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake also presented a Lindbergh High School Prop R construction update to the group, and reviewed projects in progress other than LHS. Those projects include safety glass and transaction windows for Dressel, Sappington, Concord, ECE and ECE West; secure vestibules at Truman and Kennerly; a building facility conditions audit for Truman Middle School; and an upcoming bid for a district Gifted Center that will be housed in the existing library on the LHS campus.
Lindbergh Schools is in the process of hiring a second architect to share upcoming construction projects. The district has also issued a request for qualifications to conduct a new district demographic study.
The committee's next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 10.
