Lindbergh Students Celebrate Chinese New Year
January 30, 2017
Lindbergh students celebrated the Chinese New Year on Friday, Jan. 27, with dragon parades and classroom activities.
At Lindbergh Early Childhood Education, students celebrated the Year of the Rooster and learned about life in China. They made dragons and lanterns, tried on traditional Chinese gowns, played with chopsticks and filled take-out containers, and participated in a dragon parade. The Chinese New Year celebration is an annual tradition for ECE teacher Shirley Phillips, who shares her Chinese culture with students each year.
At Long Elementary School, kindergarten students celebrated the Chinese New Year with a school-wide parade that included a dragon and colorful lions.
