LHS Entrepreneurs Pay Back Big in the Community
February 5, 2015
Lindbergh High School business students generated record profits for charity this year by selling their popular products in Judy Girard’s entrepreneurship class.
AHB Monograms was the most profitable team in the class, selling personalized monogram stickers for a variety of gift ideas. Seniors Allie Ratliff, Hannah Sartorius and Beca Maloney identified the trend early on and developed a business plan to offer stick-on monograms in a wide variety of colors and sizes.
They promoted their product on social media, created sales manuals for potential clients, and sold the sticker to students, faculty, friends, family members and craft fair patrons. Their business earned a record amount for any LHS entrepreneurship class, generating $1,600 in less than two months.
Other businesses included percussion lessons, patterned pocket T-shirts, personalized phone cases, lawn care, Lindbergh lip balm and patterned key fobs.
“This class was filled with hard working, innovative and enthusiastic students,” Girard said. “AHB Monograms generated our highest profits ever!”

Collectively, the students’ small businesses generated thousands of dollars in profits during first semester, and Girard collected $510 in “tax revenue,” to be donated to a local nonprofit organization. AHB Monograms chose Cornerstone Center for Early Learning as the recipient. The tax revenue was combined with $268 collected during a class lemonade stand competition in October, for a total donation of $778.
