Former Board Members Gather for Annual Meeting
October 9, 2014
Nine former directors of the Lindbergh Schools Board of Education
gathered on Oct. 9 to meet with district administrators and current Board members,
and learn about issues that are affecting the district at this time.
Superintendent Dr. Jim Simpson provided officials with a summary of the district’s aggressive enrollment growth, and outlined how the recent passage of Prop G, a $34 million bond issue, will provide an essential relief valve in the form of a sixth elementary school.
“Board of Education members past and present play a valuable role in our children’s educational future,” Simpson said. “We appreciate the investment these individuals make and their continued focus on doing what is best for kids.”
During the luncheon, Simpson was also pleased to announce that Lindbergh Schools ranks No. 1 in student achievement among Missouri K-12 districts in 2014, for the fifth consecutive year.
In attendance (back, L-R) was former Superintendent Dr. Gary Wright; former board member Donovan Larson; current board member Vicki Englund; former board members Phillip Carlock, Larry McIntosh, and Dr. Vic Lenz; (front, L-R) current Vice President Don Bee; former board members Janine Fabick and Frank Gregory; current Treasurer Karen Schuster; and former board members Joyce Brockhaus, Charles Schneider and William Held. |
