Closure Update for Families: Monday, March 23
March 23, 2020
Dear Lindbergh Community,
This weekend, St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page and Mayor Lyda Krewson announced a stay-at-home order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our region. As a result, Lindbergh Schools is joining all St. Louis County school districts in extending the closure of school through Wednesday, April 22. This includes all buildings and campus amenities such as athletic fields, playgrounds and the Lindbergh High School track.
School is now scheduled to resume Thursday, April 23.
Please note that the county’s order WILL NOT impact our school district’s virtual learning plan, or distribution of meals and technology to families in need. Read below for additional details.
Virtual Learning Begins Tuesday
Our amazing Lindbergh teachers have been working hard and will begin virtual instruction on Tuesday. You can expect to receive more specific details from your student’s teachers by the end of today.
Remember, virtual instruction will not be perfect, but our goal is to make it as helpful and flexible as possible. We aren’t expecting parents and guardians to become full-time teachers, and we are grateful for your support as we navigate this journey together. I found this article to be incredibly helpful, reassuring and real. I hope it provides you with encouragement and ideas, too:
Meals
During the closure, Lindbergh Schools will provide free curbside to-go meals for students who rely on school meals through the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be available for pick up Monday-Friday at the Lindbergh High School commons. A packaged lunch will be provided, in addition to breakfast for the following day. Families must sign up using the link below in order to reserve meals for students.
Computer and Internet Access
- If your student does not have access to a computer at home, please communicate directly with your teacher or email covidhelp@lindberghschools.ws.
- Charter is waiving installation fees and providing 60-day Spectrum Internet access for families during the COVID-19 crisis. Please call 844-488-8395 for details.
Lindbergh Schools Family Helpline
Lindbergh Schools has established a helpline that will be monitored daily to respond to family needs. Please call 314-729-2448, or email covidhelp@lindberghschools.ws, and a member of our team will respond to you within 24 hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday). You can also visit our COVID-19 website for all district updates and information.
Thank you once again for your support and partnership as we work to continue making decisions in the best interest of our students, staff and families
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Lake
Superintendent
