Board Approves 2019-20 Academic Calendar
October 15, 2018
The Lindbergh Schools Board of Education voted during its October meeting to approve the 2019-20 academic calendar. The first day of the 2019-20 school year is Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019.
Each year, a committee of parents, teachers and administrators meet to develop the calendar before submitting it to the board for final approval. The 2019-20 calendar has 175 school days, including six early release days and four half days.
Due to changes in the state legislature, school years are now counted in hours instead of days, which gives districts more flexibility in how they manage inclement weather days. The 2019-20 calendar has the equivalent of four emergency makeup days embedded, which means the school year will only be extended if students miss more than four days of school due to inclement weather.
